Estranged Students Solidarity Week 2023, 27th November - 1st December
We are excited to be hosting our first Estranged Students Solidarity Week for students with little or no family support in collaboration with ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ Students' Union.
Students who attend any of the events this week will automatically enter into a prize draw to win a University Complete Starter Kit with 55+ items including kitchen, dining and bathroom utensils. For more information, contact student-engagement@gre.ac.uk.
Information Session and Networking
Monday, 27th November
Time: 12pm – 2pm
Location: GSU Dreadnought Boardroom – ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ Campus
Information session offering advice and guidance in the following areas: GSU Advice, Student Finance, Wellbeing, Accommodation and Report + Support. There will be a 20min presentation covering each area, followed by pizza and drinks.

Coffee Networking Mornings (Avery Hill)
Monday - Friday throughout the week
Time: 10am – 11am
Location: The Dome - Avery Hill Campus
Each morning throughout the week, we will host workshops with GSU where students have the the opportunity to create friends, networks and engage in activities to discover support and not feel isolated or alone whilst studying at UoG. We invite students who are estranged or have little or no support from their family to attend any or all of the workshops between 10am – 11am, each day.
Estranged Students Network Lunch/Open Support Group
Wednesday, 29th November
Time: 12pm – 2pm
Location: Dreadnought Atrium – ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ Campus
We are hosting our first Estranged Students Network Lunch/Open Support Group at ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ Campus. This is an opportunity for students who are estranged or have little or no support from their family to meet, talk and encourage one another. This will be an open and supportive space. Refreshments/nibbles will be provided.
Estranged Students Network Morning (Medway)
In collaboration with the GS, the Student Engagement team have organised an Estranged Students Social get-together.
This is your invitation to join our estranged students complimentary social, including free snacks and hot drinks! This will be a great way to connect with fellow estranged students, with board games and crafts activities!
You don't have to stay for the whole time, please feel free to pop in even if you only have 5 minutes.
Please note, during the events for Estranged Students Solidarity Week, there is no need to share anything personal, this is just an opportunity for you to take part in activities and enjoy yourselves.
