Research activity

Our research is based within a dedicated Simulation Group that forms part of the Centre for Professional Workforce Development within the Institute of Lifecourse Development. The Group includes members from health, education and psychology disciplines.

About us

We are currently developing our undergraduate curriculums for nurses (adult, child, learning disabilities, mental health, associate, apprentice), midwives, operating department practitioners, paramedics, speech and language therapists, and district nurses to include a range of simulated scenarios that advance and enhance their learning experience, including interprofessional. We are also developing an MSc Interprofessional Healthcare Simulation that is due to commence in January 2022. This Masters will take a broader view of simulation by incorporating economics and innovative uses of simulation (eg. transformation of healthcare services) in addition to simulation-based education theory and practice.
