ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ Learning and Simulation Centre
The aim of GLASC is to provide excellent simulation-based education that is integrated into our healthcare programmes to produce graduates who are equipped to deliver outstanding patient care. In addition, it aims to be world-leading in simulation-based research, enterprise and knowledge exchange activities.
We are currently developing our undergraduate curriculums for nurses (adult, child, learning disabilities, mental health, associate, apprentice), midwives, operating department practitioners, paramedics, speech and language therapists, and district nurses to include a range of simulated scenarios that advance and enhance their learning experience, including interprofessional. We are also developing an MSc Interprofessional Healthcare Simulation that is due to commence in January 2022. This Masters will take a broader view of simulation by incorporating economics and innovative uses of simulation (eg. transformation of healthcare services) in addition to simulation-based education theory and practice.
