Credit rating

Our Credit for Learning Centre works with external organisations to develop courses for credit rating and Accreditation of Prior Learning.

Credit rating is the process by which the university makes a judgement about the volume and level of academic credit which can be allocated to structured learning from formal courses or training programmes offered by external organisations. This is a rigorous process to ensure comparability with other university-run courses.

Credit rating recognises the academic value of courses or training that organisations provide. Students' efforts within the course are recognised, commensurate with university credit, and can be used within the University of ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ for advanced standing towards one of our awards or to any other higher education institution which recognises such credit.

The credit rating process involves four main quality assurance phases:

  • Informal discussion and completion of a questionnaire
  • Advice and support for course development
  • Submission of course documentation
  • On-going quality monitoring.
