Tomorrow's Mathematicians Today

Call for papers

Please note that the call for papers has now closed.

Tomorrow's Mathematicians Today is a conference for undergraduate mathematicians to present to their peers mathematics which has excited them, and for delegates to be inspired by the mathematical enthusiasms of fellow undergraduates. Examples might be material in their curriculum, project work or topics they have come across in outside reading.

Presenters will be able to gain valuable experience and insights into the world of conferences. This should be a wonderfully enjoyable day of inspiring maths.

Undergraduates are invited to apply to present a short (20 minute max) talk on any mathematical topic of their choosing.

Abstracts, giving an overview of the proposed talk, should be limited to 200 words. Abstracts should be sent to us at tmt@gre.ac.uk by 1pm on Friday 11th December 2015. Candidates will be informed of the result of their application by Wednesday 6th January 2016.

There will be a prize of £400 (sponsored by GCHQ) for the best student paper. The entry criteria for this prize can be found via the link to the left of this page.

Under the University of ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ's code of practice for the conduct of events with external speakers the organisers are required to brief speakers at this event that they must not incite others to commit criminal acts, including acts of violence and/or the incitement of racial or religious hatred; nor cause a breach of the Terrorism Act 2006 or the Counter Terrorism and Security Act 2015 including the encouragement or inducement to, or glorification of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism or disseminating terrorist publications. By submitting an abstract you are acknowledging that you have been so briefed.
