Trains
Docklands Light Railway (DLR)
The nearest station is a two minute walk to the campus West Gate entrance. Direct services run from Bank, Canary Wharf, Lewisham and Stratford and easy connections are available from Tower Gateway, Beckton and London City Airport.
National Rail
Train services are provided by , refer to for timetables. There are two stations within easy walking distance of the campus both on the same line; ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ Station on ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ High Road (also a DLR station) and Maze Hill Station in Tom Smith Close. Details below:

London Underground (Tube)
For connections from the Tube alight at Canary Wharf station on the Jubilee Line and get a DLR Lewisham bound train to Cutty Sark station. More info from .
River services
operates a regular boat service from Westminster to ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ Pier (adjacent to the Old Royal Naval College) stopping at various locations on route. The journey takes 35 minutes in total and is possibly the fastest way to travel from Central London.

Cycling
Cycle routes

- The ride from Avery Hill Campus takes around 30 minutes using our suggested route on .
- Cycling is not permitted on the campus except in College Way and along the designated cycle path adjacent to the river.
Cycle parking
- Gated compound between Dreadnought and the Stephen Lawrence Building with space for 80 bikes. Access using ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ Gateway card.
- Bike hoops for 56 bikes in the grounds of Dreadnought.
- Bike hoops for 74 bikes in the Queen Anne car park adjacent to Park Row.
- Bicycles are parked at your risk. We do not accept liability, for any loss, destruction, damage or theft. We recommend you purchase a good quality 'D'-lock.
Facilities for cyclists
- Showers are provided in the basement of Dreadnought and in QA202 on second floor of the Queen Anne building.
- Lockers are provided in the basement of Dreadnought and at QA202. Apply for a locker via the university .
- A bicycle repair kit and pump is available to use at the East Gate Security Lodge.

Walking
The campus is within easy walking distance of all our halls of residence in ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ. Devonport House and Cutty Sark Halls are both just a 1 minute walk away from the Dreadnought building. Daniel Defoe Hall is 11 minutes and Rachel McMillan Hall in Deptford 14 minutes.
The ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ Foot Tunnel links ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ to the Isle of Dogs north of the river. If you have time there are also some very pleasant walks and fantastic views in ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ Park just south of the campus or along the Thames river path which runs alongside our northern boundary.

From M25 North
Exit at J27 for M11 towards London follow signs for A12 Blackwall Tunnel. After tunnel exit the A102 onto the A206 and follow sign-posts for ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ. Continue along this road for approximately one mile. Shortly after the BP garage turn right at the traffic lights into Park Row. There is a public car park immediately on the right. The campus is on the left but see the notes on car parking below.
From M25 South
Exit at J2 for A2 towards London. Head for Blackwall Tunnel onto A102. Exit A102 via slip road for A206 and follow directions provided above.
Parking
The car parks for the campus are in front of Queen Mary Court and Queen Anne Court accessed through the East Gate off Park Row. The space is shared with other site users, see . The university has an allocation of 110 bays. Due to this limitation parking is reserved for staff permit holders, disabled drivers, and visitors with pre-arranged parking.

There is no parking available on-campus for students. There is a public car park just outside the campus in Park Row. ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ Council provides information about this car park and other.
Staff permits
Staff parking permits are issued for the Queen Mary and Queen Anne car parks on-campus, and for 10 bays in the car park underneath Cutty Sark Hall in Welland Street and in Zone EG on street. There is however a long waiting list for all staff parking in ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ. Please e-mail travel@gre.ac.uk to be added to the waiting list.
Staff pay-as-you-go parking
If you work at ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ and do not have a staff monthly permit you can park at Devonport on a pay-as-you-go basis. The Devonport car park is accessed off King William Walk next the Cooper Powerhouse. The charge is £5 per day using (location code is supplied by request to Transport. Note this car park is for staff only on weekdays and shared with the public at weekends. Use is monitored by ANPR cameras.
Disabled parking
Blue Badge holders must apply online for a Disabled Persons Permit to park on-campus. Students or staff with disabilities not covered by a Blue Badge should contact the Student Wellbeing Service or Occupational Health respectively.
If you have a Disabled permit you may also park at the Dreadnought building in the bays reserved for disabled drivers. These are accessed through the gates off King William Walk (between the public bus stops). Inside the entrance you will need to call the Security telephone number on the sign to access and exit the parking area.
Visitor parking
If you are a guest of the university and require parking you will need to arrange this through your host. Staff visiting from other campuses must book visitor parking using the .
Contractors
All contractors needing to park on the campus must have . This needs to be agreed with the relevant project manager. Regular contractors can arrange for free parking for their company vehicles either by contacting their project manager or sending vehicle details direct to travel@gre.ac.uk.
Motorbikes and Scooters
If you have a motorbike or scooter you can park this in the designated parking area near to the East Gate entrance. You will need to request a permit from our online permit system.
Car Share
