I came to study at ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ from overseas and from my first visit and initial campus tour I felt very comfortable and always welcome. Everyone was very open-minded, so I knew this could really become my second home.
Memories of ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ
I think Graduation Day is special for everyone. What it reminds me of daily is the friends that I have made in London, how my family has helped me get to this point, the support system such as lecturers and student staff that helped me settle into my new home and the hard work I've put in. Even after my graduation I believe that the pillars of family and friends, great education and work effort are crucial to succeed in life.
There were so many more great memories at ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ, such as playing in the Varsity for the University football team, Graduation Day and observing the hustle and bustle of filming of Sherlock Holmes.
However, my most memorable time was when I became a Student Ambassador, which involved delivering campus tours or supporting students on Orientation Day. I still remember my orientation, so it was a great feeling to be able to give back and help other students feel at home.
Life after ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ
After my first year in London, I took the opportunity to do an ERASMUS exchange at IPAG Business School in Paris. After the exchange, I took a placement year in the financial services industry before returning to ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ to complete my degree. The opportunities at ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ to tailor your course to your goals and the flexibility provided is second to none. This helped me tremendously to pursue my own path and help me find a career that I truly love today.
After graduating I pursued a Master’s degree in Dublin which ultimately helped me get into the tech industry. Working in an American company and helping them to expand in Europe has been a brilliant experience and offered a lot of opportunities to grow. Today I manage a team of 10 selling software in Germany and I am in a "management position" which has always been my dream. Without the opportunity to explore careers before graduating through the placement year and the ability to adapt to new challenges - both important milestones I learned during my time at ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ - I wouldn't be where I am today.
