I chose this particular photograph as my Snapshot because it represents me. I may look quite serious on the outside, but that reflects my work appetite and how I go about my day to day business; however I always do it with a smile on my face. The background reflects my personality and the kind of work I produce; fun, engaging, and thought-provoking.

Memories of ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ

I have so many memories, but I think the one for me which sticks out the most was being awarded the University Merit Award for Outstanding Achievement. I was so shocked and did not expect to win the award. That year there were some brilliant individual students. I also miss my classmates and the social aspect of university.

I loved the ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ campus with the backdrop of Greenwich Park and the Old Royal Naval College, it just shouts history everywhere and it was a privilege to study there. The lecturers were great, very helpful and left you to your own devices to get on with the task at hand. They would offer great suggestions for reading material (especially for the dissertation) and were on hand if you required help or had an issue with anything. I think what helped to prepare me for my career was working on your own when needed (using your own initiative), working in a team and not being afraid to ask questions.

Life after ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ

I have worked for some great companies in the last five years or so and have learnt a lot from various designers along the way (to help fine tune my skills and allowing me to learn new tools) to enhance my skills as a video editor and motion graphic designer. I plan to move into the film industry, whether as a freelancer or for a company. My time at the University helped me understand that you need to keep growing as an individual, as a designer and to keep up with trends in the current design world.

Perseverance for me is the one piece of advice I'd give and to not worry about the age you graduate or how long it takes you to get your foot in the door at a workplace, as long as you keep focused on your targets and where you want to get too, everything will eventually fall into place. I am a strong believer that positive energy breathes positive success.
