I enjoyed so much about ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ, including the beautiful campus, my placement year and my lecturers’ enthusiasm for the modules they taught and the passion they shared for creating our success.
Memories of ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ
My fondest memories of ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ would be working in the University’s Business School both during my placement year in the Events Team and part-time in the Employability Office.
Whilst in the Events Team, I partnered with a ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ alumni from Northern Trust, to host a Women in Finance seminar for students. One of my favourite moments was listening to each of the inspiring women at what was a memorable panel discussion. Looking back, I truly believe that I was lucky to have so many networking opportunities at ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ and that's one thing I miss especially having graduated against the backdrop of a global pandemic.
I wouldn’t have had these opportunities without using the University's Employability and Careers Service. They provided me with work experience, mentoring and a wealth of information, so make sure you use them too while you have the chance!
Life after ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ
I chose this photo because it is a picture of me celebrating closing a chapter in my life. I am now a young professional working in the Ed-Tech sector, and I was recently able to attend my in-person graduation ceremony a year later. Even after university, I am still on a mission to find myself and aspire to become a new self-confident woman in the workplace.
I work on the Education Partnerships Team at Handshake - the leading, fastest-growing early-career network and recruitment platform for students in the UK and US. Handshake's mission is to democratise opportunity and make it easy for any student to build a great career, no matter where they go to university or who they know.
I'm really excited for the future and by the opportunities I have ahead of me at the company. I'd like to use my expertise in the Ed-Tech sector to impact the lives of students across the UK. I'm also hoping to take on more responsibilities in the next few years and lead on further projects.
