University gave me both the confidence and skills to not only achieve my academic goals, but also the drive and discipline to start up my own business.
Memories of ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ
I had an amazing time studying at ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ.
I wasn't 100% sure which industry in creative media I wanted a career in, so wanted a course which involved all my interests. My degree had many aspects, from photography, film, sound design, animation to building websites and project management.
My tutors were very supportive throughout, offering guidance and support from informing me of the right courses to select in my final year, to pushing me to achieve the best grades I could.
The course definitely excelled my expectations and influenced my career in the industry of wedding photography & videography.
Life after ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ
Since graduating in 2013, I have gone on to start up and run my own successful wedding photography & videography business, .
My job involves capturing and filming over 50+ weddings a year, in the South East, Kent & London, as well as family portrait sessions and events. What I love about my career is that every wedding is truly unique, and I get to work with and meet some amazing and creative people, in the wedding industry. My work is my passion and I feel so proud and privileged, to be able to be part of my wedding couples’ special days.
The photograph I have selected as my snapshot, is when I attended the last year, after being judged and selected, as a finalist for the category of 'Kent Wedding Photographer of the Year’. This was an amazing experience and was thanks to the skills and confidence I developed at ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ.
For those currently studying, my advice is to believe in yourself. Listen and adapt to new ideas shared from other students and your tutors, as they help you develop as not only a student, but a creative professional. And enjoy your time at university as it goes so quickly. I miss my time at university, it was amazing and one of the best times of my life!
