My career goal was always to be a lecturer and work in the field of food safety. The programme at the Natural Resources Institute at ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ has allowed me to achieve my goal.
Memories of ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ
I miss taking the campus bus to Medway and enjoyed taking the train and enjoying beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. I also miss Drill Hall library, which was a very spacious, sophisticated, and accommodating space to study.
After completing my MSc Food Safety and Quality Management programme at the university's Natural Resources Institute, I was able to quickly get a job in my field of study. I was lucky to have great, experienced lecturers who were part of my successful education process.
Life after ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ
After completing my course at ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ in 2013, I went back to Mauritius to work in a 5-star hotel, before finding work in higher education.
I now work as a lecturer in the field of tourism and hospitality and food safety. I’ve been in this field now for ten years and was in the past in charge of a HACCP system at a 5-star hotel.
As Malcolm X said, "Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today". Thank you to everyone at the university who helped me on my education journey.
