ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ has opened the door for me to land my perfect job. I have a passion for everything horseracing, events and sport-related, and have worked with several racecourses in the UK, including Haydock Park, Aintree, Cheltenham, Sandown Park and Epsom Downs.
Memories of ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ
I graduated with a degree in Events Management at the London Centre for Events, ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ. It was while at ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ that I got the chance to work at the London 2012 Olympics, in transport logistics with University partner Jet Set Sports.
Alongside my studies I had the opportunity to work at many events both in London and in my home town, including the ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ Food Festival, Ideal Home Show, BBC Good Food Show, Southbank Food Festival and Ludlow Arts Festival. I have been lucky enough to plan events involving Jools Holland, Madness, Boyzone and Jessie J and enjoyed international travel with Gartner conferences including the flagship Gartner Symposium in Barcelona.
Life after ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ
After graduating I enrolled in British Horseracing’s Graduate Development Programme, offering an immediate route into the workplace. In 2014 I became Event Manager at Epsom Downs Racecourse, the home of one of Britain’s largest sporting events, The Investec Derby Festival, before joining the Racing Department at The Jockey Club in 2017. The Jockey Club runs 14 venues across the country including Aintree, Cheltenham and Sandown Park. I am based at Exeter and Wincanton racecourses as Clerk of the Course.
