Mariam Raja
Senior Teaching Fellow
Mariam is a Senior Teaching Fellow in Social Work in the School of Human Sciences at the University of ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ. She has been in post since September 2020.
Mariam is a Qualified Social Worker and a Best Interest Assessor. Her teaching areas and professional interests include adult social care and disaster based social work.

Mariam has practise as a social worker in the social work field, across charities, hospital, prisons, youth clubs, local authorities.
Duties and responsibilities:
Assessing care and support needs of resident who are in the local authority based on eligibility of Care Act 2014.
- Completing Core assessments and support plans following statutory guidance.
- Working on complex cases with multiple different agencies including police, community support, and medical services.
- Working with carers to support them with their care needs under Care Act 2014.
- Undertaking safeguarding training and formal investigations.
