Katie Duncan
Senior Lecturer in Paramedic Science
Katie Duncan is a Senior Lecturer in Paramedic Science at the University of ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ. She joined the University in February 2020 and previously worked at South East Coast Ambulance Service as an operational Paramedic in Kent.
She commenced her Paramedic Science BSc (Hons) degree in April 2011 at Canterbury Christchurch University, Medway campus and completed her degree in April 2014 from which point, she began employment at South East Coast Ambulance Service.
In 2017, Katie completed the Practice Educator course at the University of ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ extending her responsibility to guiding Student Paramedics and other members of staff in the clinical environment. In 2018, she assisted with the Continuing Professional Development training at Thanet Operational Unit and in 2019, she assumed the role of CPD lead at Thanet Operating Unit, organising external speakers to educate members of staff in a range of clinical areas.
Katie works alongside the other Paramedic Science lecturers at the University of ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ and has achieved her PGCert in Higher Education and has a Fellowship with the HEA.

Awards
Katie received a Chief Executive Commendation at a SECAmb Awards Ceremony in February 2019 for assisting with a boat fire at Ramsgate Harbour whilst off duty.
