Dr Vicky Lee PhD, MSc, BA

Lecturer in Finance

Vicky is a lecturer (assistant professor) in finance at the University of ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ, with a research focus on corporate finance and M&A. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, U.S. and her MSc in International Securities, Investment and Banking & PhD degree in Finance from the ICMA Centre, Henley Business School, University of Reading, UK. She started as a Lecturer in Finance from the University of ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ as of 2021 and is currently under the research track.

Responsibilities within the university

-Teaching the following modules:

  • Finance (BSc)
  • Principles of Finance (MSc)
  • Managing Business and Finance (BSc)

-Actively working on several research projects

  • presenting papers in prestigious global conferences in the field of finance
  • contributing to REF by aiming publications in high-ranking finance journals (ABS 3*/4*)

-Personal tutor for a group of first-year Finance and Investment students (Personal Professional Development, PPD)

-Supervising 6 MSc students for their dissertation

-Working toward PGCert (HE Teaching Qualification)

Research / Scholarly interests

Vicky's  research focus is on topics in corporate finance and corporate restructuring, including mergers and acquisitions and divestitures involving financial intermediaries (investment banks) and bank holding companies. She is also working on a research project on institutional climate resilience in pursuit of ACU Commonwealth Climate Resilience Challenge Grants.

Her future research interest extends to corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, climate finance, institutional racism, gender inequality, money laundering and shell companies.
