Dr Barbara Manubea Koranteng
Lecturer in Executive Education
Dr. Barbara Manubea Koranteng is a lecturer in Finance at the University of ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ Executive Business Centre. She received her PhD in Finance and Accounting from the University of ÐÓ°ÉappÏÂÔØ where she also obtained an MSc in Finance and Investment. Prior to this, Barbara obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Ghana Business School and the Ghana Securities Exchange Certification.
Barbara is a member of the British Academy Early Career Researcher Network, CFA Society UK and the Centre for Political Economy, Governance, Finance and Accountability (PEGFA). Her research interests include Fintech, corporate finance, financial markets and inclusion. Her PhD thesis applied spatial econometrics to emphasize the significance of crowdfunding and P2P lending in driving efficient capital allocation and capital access to marginalized groups while also highlighting the risk fintech competition poses to the traditional banking sector.
Barbara’s portfolio of teaching experience cuts across both undergraduate and postgraduate courses such as International Business Finance, Financial Markets and Institutions, Quantitative methods and Financial aspects of marketing and public relations. She is also the academic tutor for MBA Finance and placement supervisor for MBA professional practice module.
